Description
Perfectly tender, smoky BBQ beef brisket made effortlessly in a slow cooker.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4–5 lbs beef brisket
- 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)
- 1 cup beef broth or stock
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Optional: 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper for added heat
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Start by preparing your brisket. Trim any excess fat, but leave some for flavor. Pat it dry with paper towels.
- In a bowl, mix your spices: garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper. Rub this mixture generously all over the brisket.
- Place the brisket in the slow cooker. Pour in the beef broth and apple cider vinegar, followed by the Worcestershire sauce.
- Drizzle your BBQ sauce over the top of the brisket. Reserve a bit of the sauce for serving later.
- Cover the slow cooker and set it to low for about 8 hours or set it to high for about 5 hours.
- Once cooked, remove the brisket and let it rest for about 15 minutes before slicing.
- Slice against the grain and serve with the reserved BBQ sauce drizzled on top.
Notes
For a lower-sugar option, choose a sugar-free BBQ sauce or make your own with natural sweeteners. Always slice against the grain for best tenderness.
