Description
A fun twist on typical hot dogs, Mummy Hot Dogs are perfect for Halloween or festive gatherings, wrapped in dough to create a spooky character.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 hot dogs (beef, turkey, or chicken)
- 1 package of crescent roll dough (or puff pastry)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Mustard or ketchup (for eyes and dipping)
- Optional: cheese sticks (cut into small pieces)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and cut it into strips about a half-inch wide.
- Wrap the hot dog with the dough strips, leaving a small section uncovered for the face.
- Place the wrapped hot dogs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Beat the egg and brush it over the dough-wrapped hot dogs.
- Bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until the dough is puffed and golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before transferring to a serving platter, then add mustard or ketchup for eyes.
Notes
For a healthier version, use low-fat turkey hot dogs and whole wheat dough. Avoid overwrapping to allow the dough to puff.
