Description
Fluffy mashed potatoes infused with rich garlic and butter flavors, perfect for any meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds of potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet)
- 4 cloves of garlic, peeled and minced
- 1/2 cup of butter or ghee
- 1/2 cup of heavy cream or milk
- Salt, to taste
- Ground black pepper, to taste
- Fresh chives or parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Start by peeling the potatoes and cut them into uniform chunks. Put those potato pieces in a large pot and fill it with cold water until the potatoes are submerged.
- Add a generous pinch of salt into the water and bring it to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium and let the potatoes simmer for about 20 minutes, or until they are fork-tender.
- While the potatoes are cooking, melt the butter and sauté the minced garlic over low heat in a small saucepan for about 2-3 minutes.
- Drain the cooked potatoes and return them to the pot. Mash the potatoes using a potato masher or a ricer.
- Gradually add the melted garlic butter to the potatoes, followed by the heavy cream (or milk). Stir gently until combined.
- Finally, season your mashed potatoes with salt and pepper to taste.
- For a little extra flair, garnish with chopped chives or fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
Swap potatoes for sweet potatoes for a nutritional boost or use non-dairy options for a vegan dish.
