Description

A quick and customizable beef burger bowl that captures all the flavors of a classic burger without the carbs. Perfect for busy nights and picky eaters!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (85 or 90% lean)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 tsp onion powder (optional)
  • 4 cups romaine or iceberg lettuce, shredded
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 cup pickles, chopped or sliced
  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon bits (optional)

Quick Burger Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • 2 tbsp ketchup (or sugar-free)
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 2 tbsp pickle relish (or chopped pickles)
  • 1 tsp pickle juice (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 pinch paprika (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and break it up with a spoon. Season with salt, pepper, and any extra seasoning you like. Cook until browned and no longer pink. If there is a lot of grease, drain a little off but leave a tiny bit for flavor.
  2. In a small bowl, stir together mayo, ketchup, mustard, and relish. Taste and adjust seasonings if needed.
  3. Add a handful of shredded lettuce to each bowl.
  4. Pile on tomatoes, pickles, onions, cheese, and anything else you like. Then spoon the hot beef on top so the cheese gets a little melty.
  5. Drizzle the sauce over everything.

Notes

Make extra sauce for dipping vegetables or for grilled chicken. You can also customize toppings based on preferences and dietary restrictions.
